En-Suite Bathroom Ideas

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

The way houses are built has changed over the years and now almost every new home is being built to include an en-suite bathroom or at least a small cloakroom suite downstairs. En-suites and cloakrooms can have a dramatic effect on the property value because they can add between five thousand and fifteen thousand pounds to the house value. These rooms make life easier because they are handy to have especially when you have a family and everyone’s fighting about who is going to have the shower first.

Often people ask “what is it I should have in my bathroom when I am updating it?” It’s a personal choice what goes in your bathroom and it should include all the items you desire to suit your needs and anyone else that would use the en-suite. If you still don’t know what you want in your bathroom there is always set suites available online which are always good because they can offers discounts. En-suites are not your main household bathroom they can very basic by including just a toilet and basin with a vanity. Most of the modern en-suites include a shower enclosure or if the room is large enough, possibly a bath with a shower screen, adding the arrangement of the bath with a screen is like adding two features into the en-suite. Planning out what you are to be doing will save you time and money, also if you look in to buying bathroom items online you will definitely save money.

It’s mainly about the size of the room you have whether you can fit various sized bathroom items certain bathroom products into the room. You will find as you browse through bathroom products and furniture that the cloakroom products and furniture are smaller, this is only because of the obvious smaller size in the room compared to a full sized bathroom. The cloakroom of a house maybe small but that does not mean it does not deserve the attention like your main bathroom or en-suite. The truth is it does because people often fail to realise that the cloakroom is the toilet which guests in your home would use if they needed to use a toilet. The lighting in cloakrooms is not always the best because of the situation of the room in the house. The natural light is hard to come by in small rooms this is why using light coloured products in your cloakroom is useful such as a white set consisting of a basin and toilet. A good useful tip if you have a small en-suite or cloakroom is to use a mirror on the wall which can give the appearance of the room being larger.

The Renovation of an En-Suite Bathroom

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

There is no need to sacrifice style when renovating a smaller bathroom. In fact, a smaller bathroom can look incredibly smart and stylish if the right design is applied to it. There are ample suites especially designed to completely transform a small space into a miniature luxury bathroom haven.

With the right bathroom furniture installed, you can save a vast amount of space as well as improving your bathroom organization. Adding a vanity suite to a small bathroom can not only provide you with that much needed storage space, it also has the ability to hide unsightly pipe work to keep your bathroom looking immaculate and completed.

Specially designed compact toilets and basins may seem like a small alteration, but again they can save that much needed extra space and create a very minimalist, stylish feel too. Wall hung furniture can save you valuable floor space as well as creating a stylish spacious look. Mirrored cabinets give you two uses in one unit, as well as reflecting both natural and artificial lighting to create a more open, spacious feel. Bella Bathrooms provides excellent quality bathroom furniture for every size suite at an incredible, discounted price. Explore our range of furniture from leading designers and manufacturers such as Hudson Reed, HiB, Rak and many others.

All About Ceramics

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Ceramics come in all shapes and sizes, and for some, the different names can be quite confusing. Here is a quick explanation of the different types of ceramics we sell.

Close Coupled WC

A close coupled WC has the cistern resting directly on top of the pan towards the rear. Closed coupled toilets are traditionally the most popular WC in the UK.

Back To Wall WC

The back of the pan sits flush to either the wall or furniture and is sued with a concealed cistern which is out of sight either behind a stud wall or furniture. This WDC is a popular choice when wanting to achieve a minimalist look as all pipe work is concealed.

Soft Close Seat

Quiet and controlled closure of the seat and lid.

Wall Mounted WC

Unlike close coupled or back to wall WCs, a wall mounted WC does not sit on the floor; it is suspended from the wall and must be used in conjunction with a wall mounting frame system. Not only does this WC help create a minimalist look, it also has the practical benefit of being very easy to clean.

Dual Flush WC’s

These come with a dual flush fitting offering a 6 or 4 litre flush at the push of a button.

 Full Pedestal

A full pedestal supports the weight of the basin and goes down to the floor. It is ideal for concealing pipe work and is the most popular pedestal used in homes.

Semi Pedestal

A semi pedestal sits under the basin and creates a minimalist look by opening up the floor space.

Recessed Basin

Designed to fit completely into a work surface or furniture. The top of the basin sits flush with the worktop and the rest of the basin is hidden in the furniture.

Semi Recessed Basin

Designed to be partially cut into a work surface of furniture. The front of the basin protrudes out of the furniture, only the back half of the basin is recessed.

Countertop/Vessel Washbowl

Designed to sit on top of a work surface or furniture.
