Traditional Toilets

Traditional toilets are still a popular choice for bathrooms due to their lavish and decorative designs. Those who live in older period properties such as Victorian or Georgian flats, or owners of country cottages who are keen on a shabby chic look often opt for these victorian style toilets. As well as being larger and more solid in size, a traditional toilet (also known as a victorian toilet) varies from a modern version in that the cistern is separate from the actual toilet pan in most traditional WC designs. The old fashioned design of these high level toilets can create a dramatic finish in your period bathroom. Modern touches can still be found in the traditional toilet range though through soft closing toilet seats. Also some traditional low level toilets are modern in their close coupled design and purely adopt a more traditional decor in the cistern or pan. Victorian Toilets

Up to 50 years ago it wasn't uncommon to find cisterns hung on the wall above the toilet pan but today’s traditional toilets are a bit more compact than that. The cistern is still separate from the actual pan but the whole ‘toilet’ comes as one combined unit. Here at Bella Bathrooms we can offer you either a selection of high level toilets, low level toilets and close coupled toilets that are vintage in their style. The high level Victorian toilet style can create a real wow factor in your bathroom and become a real feature of the space. Some toilets still feature pull lever flush mechanisms to go for maximum traditional appeal. Classic toilets can really become the focal point of your bathroom with their opulent design. To complete the look in your bathroom team a traditional toilet with one of our vintage basins with stands

Another obvious difference with traditional toilets is that they tend to have a more decorative edge. This usually involves an ornamental, curved, upright edge on top of the cistern which you’ll often find co-ordinates with a particular bathroom suite. This decoration is often matched with detailing around the bottom edge of the pan too. Our select range of traditional toilets will ensure that you find something to suit your bathroom or cloakroom design from our varied toilet section!
