With a thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) it’s possible to manually set an individual radiator at your preferred temperature while, at the same time, ensuring that the heat won’t get too high.

The latter is achieved by the valve self-monitoring and cutting back the flow of heat to the radiator on detecting there is already enough heat there. This ability to regulate and reduce heat (and indeed to customize each individual room's radiator by setting it to the temperature best designed to suit that particular location) means the thermostatic radiator valve has an important eco-friendly role to play in the home.
